backyard BBQ

July 24, 2011

K and I seem to be on a kick for the classic American summertime this year.   So it only made sense that when a friend from home was visiting us this weekend we decided her last day with us was best spent grilling outside.  Unfortunately, our current place lacks any legitimate outdoor space – but this is remedied by the fact that we have a handful of fabulous friends and neighbors who do have a grill and a legal place to use it.   If you’re a city-dweller like we are and share in our no-patio, no-yard woes, do yourself a favor and find a public park that allows BBQing.   Take along a game of horshoes, bean bags, or [in our case]  quoits, crank some Bob Marley and engage yourself in some healthy competition with your buddies while the grill does all the work.  I mean, is there really anything better than the aroma of a  charcoal grill sizzle?   It might just be one of my favorite smells on this earth.   Now take a load off, sink your teeth into a juicy burger (or veggie skewer!) and kiss your sunday blues goodbye, my friend.   You deserve it.

It was yummy grilled. First time I tried it that way. I was heavy-handed with the s&p.
